Perhentian island being one of the TOP 3 popular island is perfect for your weekend getaway. Being one of the most visited island located at Terengganu coast, the island is famous for soft sand beach and beach side bars.

Perhentian also means “stopping point” is made up of Perhentian Besar (Big Island) and Perhentian Kecil (Small Island).

BEST TIME TO VISIT?

The resorts basically operates from March – October of the year. Peak season will be around June – August and school holidays where most resort are fully booked especially over the weekend. So it is advisable to plan earlier to avoid fully booked or high budget resorts left to book from. If you are hunting for island deals. Be sure to look out for early bird deals as most resorts will offer for around March travelling.

HOW TO GET TO PERHENTIAN ISLAND?

1. Self drive
Driving takes about 6-7 hours from KL city to Kuala Besut jetty. Then take ferry around 45 minutes to Perhentian Island.

2. Domestic Flight
Flight takes about 45 minutes to Kuala Terengganu or Kota Bahru. Upon arrival at airport, take a taxi and proceed to Kuala Besut Jetty. Then take ferry to the Island.
